Updated: May 26, 2022

Attorney Tad Bistor Unanimously Endorsed as the Republican Candidate for Greater Windsor Probate Judge.

Attorney Tad Bistor, a resident of South Windsor, was unanimously endorsed for Greater Windsor Probate Judge by the Republican delegates from Windsor, South Windsor, and East Windsor at their Convention held on Wednesday, May 18th.

Bistor, 54, is the owner of the Law Offices of Tad J. Bistor, LLC in Hartford and has twenty-eight years of relevant family, probate, civil, criminal, and appellate court litigation experience. He is also State-approved to represent children as guardian ad litem and attorney for minor children in family matters. Bistor received his Bachelor’s Degree from Binghamton University, State University of New York, and his Law Degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law. He is licensed to practice law in the State and Federal District Courts in Connecticut and New York, and before the United States Supreme Court.

Stephanie Weintraub, South Windsor Republican Town Committee Chairwoman, said in a statement during the Convention that “Attorney Bistor’s resume speaks for itself. He has an extensive background and is extremely well qualified for the position of Probate Judge.” Robert Leach, East Windsor Republican Town Committee Chairman, also spoke in support of Attorney Bistor: “Attorney Bistor’s resume is certainly very impressive, but I feel he has two additional qualifications for the position that are not listed on his resume – his honor and his integrity.”

In a statement accepting the endorsement, Bistor said “I am honored to have the potential opportunity to serve as Probate Judge for the Greater Windsor community. I have spent my life and career helping people – children, parents, families, and those in need – and I hope to continue doing that as Probate Judge.”

Bistor understands that Probate Court matters can be overwhelming for the parties involved and his decisions as a Probate Judge will have lasting effects on children and families. He also knows that litigants want their voices to be heard. “If elected, I promise to treat the parties before me with respect, compassion, and empathy, and I will listen to what they have to say. Parties can be confident they will have the opportunity to be heard.”

The current Probate Judge, Marianne Lassman Fisher, is retiring after serving in the position since 2012. “Judge Lassman Fisher has served this district with distinction, and if elected, I intend to follow the fine example she has exemplified,” said Bistor.

Bistor will face his eventual Democratic challenger in the general election on Tuesday, November 8th.More information regarding Attorney Bistor and his qualifications can be found on his campaign website at www.BistorForProbate.com.
